New details of a murder case in the Greater Toronto Area involving a local victim are being made public.

The victim of last weekend’s homicide investigation is identified as Jeannine Ross-Armstrong, 38, of Thunder Bay. Armstrong’s body was found early Saturday morning in a Richmond Hill condominium.

The cause of death has still not been released.

Her identity had been the subject of a court-ordered publication ban, but that restriction was lifted Friday.

York Regional Police have a suspect in custody in the case.

Jonathon Ross, 36, formerly of Thunder Bay, has been charged with second-degree murder.

Police say the victim and the accused were known to each other. According to the Toronto Star a defence lawyer has confirmed that the accused is Ross-Armstrong’s brother.
