THUNDER BAY – The victim in a fatal auto-pedestrian collision on Highway 11/17 on Tuesday morning has been identified by Ontario Provincial Police.
Joel Walton, 39, from Fort Frances was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision.
The OPP Highway Safety Division, OPP Forensic Identification Services and OPP Technical Collision Investigators attended the scene to assist with the investigation.
Highway 11/17 at Mapleward Road and Jelly Road, as well as Highway 130 and Twin City Crossroads was closed for approximately six hours as police conducted their investigation.
The investigation is continuing.
