RED LAKE, Ont. -- The victim in a fatal collision in the Municipality of Red Lake on Friday has been identified by Ontario Provincial Police.
Vanessa Rivers, 22, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Ontario Provincial Police, in a release issued on Friday, said the woman’s vehicle left the road early Friday morning around 3:30 a.m. on Mine Street and came to rest on a frozen body of water near the roadway.
Police say they arrived at the scene shortly afterward and found the woman deceased.
In a release, issued Wednesday morning, poice say the investigation has revealed that the vehicle being driven was taken without the owner's consent.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
