THUNDER BAY — A beaver is providing entertainment this winter for visitors to Thunder Bay's Marina Park.

Reta Atkinson posted video on Facebook this week, showing the beaver doing what beavers do – cutting poplar and carrying pieces into the water through a gap in the ice on the shoreline.

A crowd had already gathered when Atkinson happened by on Monday.

"It was just so exciting. Everyone was so thrilled watching that. We stayed there for I don't know how long," she told TBNewswatch.

Describing the beaver as "a big boy," Atkinson said the presence of an audience didn't seem to bother it.

"He just carried out, just doing his business, back and forth."

Atkinson added "Everyone was so happy, and I thought 'what a joy to see something like that.'  You don't see something like that every day."
