Video: Police looking to identify Circle K robbery suspect

Police are searching for a suspect connected to a late-night Circle K robbery.

THUNDER BAY – City police are asking for the public’s assistance to help identify a suspect involved in a recent convenience store robbery on the city’s north side.

Thunder Bay Police were dispatched to the Circle K convenience store Sunday, Aug. 4 on Red River Road at 10:45 p.m. following reports of a robbery that had just occurred.

According to a media release, a male suspect entered the store armed with what appeared to be a long wooden handled ice scraper or garden edger. The accused approached the counter as the clerk was serving a customer and threatened the employee.

Police say the customer and clerk then fled the store. Moments later the accused also fled.

The accused is described as standing between five-foot-eight and five-foot-10. He wore black pants with a white stripe down the sides of the legs, a grey hooded sweater, a black jacket, black boots, and an orange piece of clothing covering his face.

As a result of the investigation, police have obtained surveillance footage that shows the accused male.
