Video: Robbery with firearm suspect to ID

City police are asking for the public's assistance as they search for a suspect involved in Tuesday morning robbery.

The Thunder Bay Police Service is requesting public assistance to identify the suspect involved in a recent armed robbery.

Police were originally dispatched to the Circle K convenience store at 640 Waterloo Street at 10:57 a.m. on Tuesday, July 21 following reports of an armed robbery that had just occurred.

When police arrived the accused had already fled the scene.

Police learned the accused, who appeared to be female, entered the store with a firearm in a disposal plastic bag. The accused approached the counter, produced a firearm, pointed it toward the clerk and made demands for money.

The accused fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. She was last seen heading southbound along the railway tracks west of Kingsway.

The accused is described as possibly being a female with a fair complexion, dark hair and a medium-to-heavy build.

At the time of the robbery she was wearing a: Red ballcap; a black-and-white bandana as a face covering; black jacket over a pink-and-white pattern shirt; black-and-orange gloves; black ankle-high boots that appeared to be leather; black tights.

Members of the Thunder Bay Police Service’s Break and Enter And Robbery (BEAR) Unit are now investigating the incident. Investigators obtained video showing the accused at the time of the robbery. Portions of that video are being distributed to the public in hopes they can be positively identified.
