Violent incident at Dryden hospital leads to charges

The incident in a patient room resulted in thousands of dollars in damages.

DRYDEN, Ont. — A Dryden man remains in custody pending a court appearance following a violent incident at the Dryden Regional Health Centre.

It left a patient room with what police describe as extensive damages.

Dryden police received a 911 call on June 13 after a man became violent and started throwing items around.

When officers arrived, they found that hospital staff had contained him in the patient room as he continued to damage hospital property.

Police said they were able to apprehend the man immediately.

The 46-year-old is charged with mischief over $5,000, failing to comply with a probation order, and failing to comply with an undertaking.

He's scheduled for a bail hearing on June 19.

There were no reports of anyone being injured or assaulted during the incident.
