Just weeks after local rapper Jordan Burnell’s My Home Town video went viral, director Matt Popowich received international attention with an America’s Funniest Videos-like YouTube clip.

It isn’t Popowich’s artistic flair getting the attention, but a case of bad luck caught on camera. In the video Popowich is seen falling off a windmill at Friendship Gardens during a wedding in August, 2009. About a week ago he posted the video online, which caught the attention of Ellen DeGeneres.

The video was shown on a special online video segment of the popular morning talk show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Popowich said he only learned that the clip was featured on the show after a friend sent him a text message about it. He added that he is able laugh about the incident because he wasn’t hurt.

The video was shot by Mike Williams of Maverick Entertainment. Popowich fell from the windmill in a rented tuxedo, but was fortunate enough to have it insured.
