THUNDER BAY – Starting Monday, some amenities will be closed at Waddington Park in Current River as improvements are beginning.

At this time, the park will be open and sports fields will not be affected.

However, the basketball court and one tennis court will be closed for repaving, and sections of the multi-use trail will be closed in work areas.

In addition to repaving, the renewal will include reconstructing multi-use trails and improving trail connections to the surrounding neighbourhood, upgrading trail lights, and rebuilding the front entrance stairs to the Current River Community Centre.

This work may take until the end of September to complete.

Alternate access into the community centre will be noted on signage as required during construction.
