Lakehead University’s loss is Laurentian University’s gain.
The Sudbury school on Monday announced the hiring of Rui Wang as its new vice-president research, effective next January.
For the past decade the Chinese-born Wang has served as the vice-president of research and vice-president, research, economic development and innovation.
“With its great momentum, visionary and dynamic leadership, and numerous areas of unique research strengths, Laurentian University has gained national recognition for its excellence in research and innovation,” Wang said in a release issued by Laurentian.
“I am excited about the opportunities and challenges ahead and looking forward to working with the Laurentian community to champion its research and innovation mission from success to successes.”
Wang replaces Patrice Sawyer.
