THUNDER BAY – A wanted Thunder Bay man has been arrested and a replica firearm was seized on Friday morning.
Police say the man was spotted by officers with the Break and Enter and Robbery Unit while they were in the 500-block area of Donald Street East at about 10:30 a.m.
The officers observed the male accused who was known to be wanted on an active warrant and approached the accused and completed the arrest without incident.
The officer learned the male was in possession of a pellet gun, which was concealed at the time of the arrest.
Scott Randall Walford, 26, of Thunder Bay, was transported to the Thunder Bay Police Service headquarters at 1200 Balmoral Street and is charged with two counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, and failure to comply with a probation order.
Walford appeared in bail court on Saturday and was remanded into custody with a future appearance date.
The charges have yet to be tested in court.
