If the long-range weather forecast is correct, the ski season isn’t about o get started any time too soon.
Warmer temperatures are in the forecast for the rest of this week, and Mount Baldy owner Craig Spiess said there’s no plan to continue making snow during the next few days.
“(We can’t make snow) until the forecast drops to -10C and stays there,” Spiess said during a telephone interview with CKPR Radio Thursday.
“So I would just suggest that everyone just enjoys the weather.”
Spiess added that they have made about a meter of snow at the base of the hill and remains optimistic about opening on the first weekend in December.
