THUNDER BAY -- More details have emerged regarding the restructuring of Wasaya Airways.
The company announced the move Thursday but provided no details on what changes would be made as part of the restructuring.
In a news release issued to media Friday, Wasaya officials disclosed its management team remains in control of operations. But it says an outside firm, the REL Group, has been retained to help the Board with the restructuring.
It also says 350 employees remain with the company.
There is no word how many, if any, employees have lost their jobs.
However in their initial release Thursday, Wasaya officials expressed their "sense of compassion for the families affected."
All this comes amid ongoing reports of serious financial problems at the airline, with debts that are said to exceed $3 million.
