WAWA, Ont. -- Highway 17 north of Sault Ste. Marie in the Alona Bay area is open to one lane.
The washout happened Sunday at Alona Bay, which is about 100 kilometres north of Sault Ste. Marie.
It's expected to take until sometime Monday afternoon to be cleared, and no detour is in place with the highway closure in both directions.
