THUNDER BAY -- The City of Thunder Bay on Tuesday announced the immediate implementation of city-wide calendar parking restrictions.
The move follows a recent snowfall and a weather forecast that calls for the possibility of more snow over the next few days.
"Motorists are asked to obey posted calendar parking signs, and allow our crews to remove snow from city roads more efficiently," said James Coady, the city's manager of licensing and enforcement.
Calendar parking applies to residential streets, and is in effect from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
On priority routes, no parking is allowed between 2 a.m. and 7 a.m. each day. All priority routes are identified by posted signs.
Violators of calendar parking regulations face a potential penalty of $50.
