THUNDER BAY -- A major south side intersection is expected to be closed for much of the week for water repairs.
The Vickers Street North and Victoria Avenue intersection will be closed to motor vehicle traffic beginning Monday for water infrastructure repairs. That work is expected to be completed by the end of Thursday.
Businesses in the area will remain open during the construction, with barricades in place at the intersections of Victoria Avenue and Harold Street, Victoria Avenue and McKellar Street, Vickers and Donald streets and Vickers and Miles streets.
Motorists are asked to use Harold Street, Donald Street, McKellar Street and Miles Street as alternate routes during the construction. The Thunder Bay Transit bus stop in front of the White Cedar Health Centre will not be available while construction is ongoing.
Pedestrian and cycling traffic will remain available along Victoria Avenue.
