THUNDER BAY – The splash pad at Prince Arthur’s Landing is now open for the season, and local youth were not shy to splash around on Friday.
Temperatures peaked at 26 degrees Celsius, and that gave children like Ethan Rintaluhta a chance to cool off.
"It's sunny it's nice out, and everyone's having a good time," said the eight-year-old.
The same goes for Jayda Sault, who is also eight.
"It feels super relaxing because the cold air and the warm water just feels nice."
Weather permitting the splash pad will remain open for the kids to enjoy until mid-September.
"It's really nice because I was sweating a little before I came, but now I've cooled off," said Ella Maki. "I'll be going again on a hot day."
Both the splash pad, and the adjacent water garden pavilion with change areas and public restrooms, will be open daily from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m.
