THUNDER BAY – Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the City of Thunder Bay warning of a significant snowfall.
The government agency issued the statement Tuesday morning, and predicts snow to be heavy at times and move into portions of northern Ontario Wednesday night into Thursday. Gusty northeast winds may result in areas of blowing snow as well.
For areas close to Lake Superior, precipitation may begin as rain or freezing rain before changing over to snow.
Snowfall amounts exceeding 15 centimetres are likely in some areas.
