THUNDER BAY – The city is celebrating Pride Week.

The sixth annual event kicked off at a Wednesday morning ceremony at city hall, which featured an official flag raising of the iconic rainbow flag.

Thunder Pride celebrates diversity in the city through numerous events.  That Includes an Awareness breakfast on Monday and a drag show next Friday.

The 10 days of events will wrap up Saturday, June 18 with the 4th annual Pride Parade ending at Marina Park.

This year the number of participants taking part in the parade has doubled according to Pride Week Chair Donna Nagy.

Nagy adds that this year’s parade will be laid out better for attendees.
