Westfort disturbance results in drug charges

THUNDER BAY— An early-morning disturbance call in the Westfort area of Thunder Bay resulted in a man being arrested on drug charges.

Thunder Bay Police say patrol officers responded to a call to the 1400 block of Brown Street at about 2:15 AM on Monday.

A man had reportedly threatened individuals in the area with a tire iron.

Officers located the suspect's vehicle in the 600 block of Brown Street, and found a tire iron and drugs inside the car.

They also located a quantity of Canadian currency.

A 27-year-old Brampton, Ont. man was charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, breach of recognizance, and possession of the proceeds of crime.
