The doors to the city's third methadone clinic on West Frederica Street have been unlocked.
The new Ontario Addiction Treatment Centre is set to officially open soon. The centre's hours have been posted and staff members are working inside the clinic, building a client database. The location of the centre has been controversialwith members of the Westfort Business Association.
A few nearby business owners in the area say there has been little activity around the clinic so far and little disruption to the neighbourhood. Doses of methadone will not be administered until the clinic officially opens, which is expected to happen by the end of the month.
