THUNDER BAY - Westgate Collegiate welcomed back a very special alumnus this past week.
An alumni who made a large donation to help fund the school's weight room equipment.
Westgate's weight training room opened in February with $20-thousand dollars’ worth of equipment donated by Wyatt Wishart, a former star athlete during his years at Westgate in the 1970s.
Wishart went on to achieve international success in the sport of wrestling and was inducted in the Northwestern Ontario Sports Hall of Fame in 1993.
Athletic Coordinator David McCallum said Wishart serves as a role model for students to strive for success.
McCallum added it's a real treat to have Wishart visit, as the former student now currently resides in southern Ontario.
