What’s Poppin: August 9 and 10
Saturday
The Fat Guy’s Annual Carshow will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Fat Guys Auto Parts. Registration for the show will go directly to the George Jeffrey Children’s Foundation. It will also be giving away cash prizes to category winners, including up to $10,000 for Best in Show.
A Full Moon Bike Ride will be taking place at 6 p.m. to support the improvement of Active Transportation in Thunder Bay. Cyclists are asked to meet up at the Real Canadian Superstore near the A&W with blinky lights, helmets, noise makers, high-vis clothes if possible and friends and family.
Thru It All with Locals will perform at the Black Pirates Pub at 9 p.m. Entrance is 19+ and to be determined.
DJ Rogue will perform at the Foundry at 10 p.m. Entrance is 19+ and $5.
The Three Kord Killers will perform at the Wayland Bar and Grill at 10 p.m. Entrance is 19+ and $5.
Sunday
The CLE Baby Show will take place at the Canadian Lakehead Exhibition from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Those interested in participating can pick up posters at the CLE Office and fill out the participation forms.
All weekend
The Alaskan Malamute National Speciality will be held at Chippewa Park at 8 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
The Canadian Lakehead Exhibition (CLE) continues this weekend outside SilverCity from 12 p.m. to 11:55 p.m. It will feature thrilling rides, live music, games and exhibits.
