The Thunder Bay Country Market is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Canadian Lakehead Exhibition: 425 Northern Ave. head on down to buy local groceries, crafts, and gifts from the talented, hard-working local people who created them.
Children and Family Events:
It's time once again for Pumkinfest at Gammondale Farm! For 28 years, Gammondale Farm has been a Thunder Bay family tradition. There are tons of outdoor attractions including Picking out an Amazing Pumpkin, Canada’s Biggest Pumpkin Catapult, Pumpkin Train and Pumpkin Slingshot. Get your tickets here! Thunder Wolves Hockey is Back! The First home games of the Lakehead University Mens Hockey team is this weekend. With Fun for the whole family. Walks/Runs:
TeamDEK and Gone Too Soon Bereavement Group is holding a fall walk to raise overdose awareness starting at 11 a.m. The walk will start at the Walmart parking lot on Arthur Street heading east to City Hall and Kam Park. The group is also collecting warm winter wear hats, mitts and winter coats. Donated warm clothing items will be donated to local organizations like Grace's Place and PACE.
Theatre:
The 2022-2023 season kicks off with THE RUNNER by Christopher Morris at Magnus Theatre. A Human Cargo Production, ZAKA is an Orthodox Jewish volunteer force in Israel. They collect the remains of Jews killed in accidents. When Jacob, a ZAKA volunteer, treats a young woman suspected of stabbing a soldier, his world is changed forever. A powerful thriller from Toronto’s Human Cargo, winner of the 2019 Dora Mavor Moore Awards for Outstanding Production, Outstanding Direction and Outstanding New Play. Get your tickets here! Arts & Heritage:
Head down to the Thunder Bay Museum on at 7 p.m. and listen to the fur trade, a presentation by Dr. Daniel R. Laxer. His book "Listening to the Fur Trade Soundways and Music in the British North American Fur Trade, 1760-1840" will be available for purchase on site.
