Sports: 

The Kam River Fighting Walleye are facing off against the Dryden Ice Dogs today at 7:30 p.m. at Northwest Arena, a short drive out of Highway 11/17 to Highway 588 in Stanley. Get your tickets here! 

The Thunder Bay North Stars are playing this weekend.  Fun for the whole family. Puck drops at 7 p.m. and this Saturday the North Stars take on the Sioux Lookout Bomber at the Fort William Gardens. Purchase tickets at the Fort William Gardens box office!

Markets: 

The Thunder Bay Country Market is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Canadian Lakehead Exhibition: 425 Northern Ave. head on down to buy local groceries, crafts, and gifts from the talented, hard-working local people who created them. 

Social Events: 

A Friendly Afternoon of Cribbage at the West Arthur Community Centre Cribbage Tens Tournament. Please arrive and be ready to play from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Late arrivals cannot be accommodated due to the nature of the tournament. $5.00 per person. Cash prizes, coffee, tea & snacks provided 

Arts and Heritage: 

Zorya Ukrainian Dance Association presents Malanka: New Year’s Eve - Ukrainian Style! at the Royal Canadian Slovak Legion. Enjoy a delicious buffet-style meal prepared by the Slovak Legion just before dancing the night away to local favourites Danny Johnson & 21 Gun Fun. The Zorya Ukrainian Dancers will also be providing entertainment during the evening. Tickets are available by contacting the Slovak Legion (632-3354) or by calling Alice Chony (577-2100). This fun-filled evening sells out quickly, so get your tickets before they are all gone!  See attached poster for more information. 

Music: 

Native American Music Award winners THE BLOODSHOTS from Winnipeg are coming to Black Pirates Pub! Performing a full Nirvana tribute set, along with a mixed 90's set, and an originals set. You don't want to miss this! $15 in advance, 19+ Doors at 9pm, show at 10 p.m. open until 2 a.m. 

The Foundry Presents the 1st Dance Party of 2023, dance the night away. Head out to The Foundry, 242 Red River Rd. Thunder Bay Ont. Starts at 10 p.m., $5 at the door, 19+ Photo ID
