What’s Poppin: June 14 and June 15

Saturday

The Tbaytel Motorcycle Ride for Dad will be presented by PDR 2025 at the Superior Inn Hotel and Conference Centre from 7:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. Locals can join hundreds of bikers for a ride and poker run in support of local prostate cancer care.

The second annual 4Paws Vendor Market will run from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the CLE Heritage Building. The market has free admission. Attendees are encouraged to come support local and stay for the door prizes, raffles, giveaways or even a Hot Diggety Dog.

Thunder Bay Mining Day is coming from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Prince Arthur's Landing. The event features interactive activities and engaging exhibits that allow families to explore the world of mining.

ALS Canada - Walk to End ALS 2025 will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Boulevard Lake.

Crossroad Music Summer Series 2025 returns from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 632 City Road for all ages.

Arley Cox will play live at the Foundry at 4 p.m. The event is open to all ages.

Wislon-Sabaz will play at the Industry at 6:30 p.m. Wilson-Sabaz combines their love and blend of acoustic music to fuse together jazz, folk, rock, R&B soul and adult contemporary music. Admission is $3 for those 19 and older.

A Portrait of Northwestern Ontario, a concert of bold new music by emerging Canadian composers, will be held at Magnus Theatre from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Admission is $25 for general, $20 for students and youth and $40 for supporters.

A Loud & Proud: Pride DJ Dance Party will be held at the Black Pirates Pub at 9 p.m., with the show starting at 10 p.m. It is $10 at the door and 19+ with ID required. Dance to the sounds of DJ Ariah and the debut of DJ Amber Ail, as well as catch go-go dancers V and Mister E lighting up the stage with nonstop heat.

The Cartwrights and Lakeside District will have a Band Night at Red Lion Smokehouse. Music starts at 10 p.m. There is no cover fee and it is 19+.

Sunday

The Fifth Annual Ethnic Food Picnic will be held from noon to 4 p.m. at the Moose Hall. It will feature face painting, henna art, nail art, traditional jewellery and clothing stalls, local artwork displays and cultural performances. The entry fee is $5 and it is a cash-only event.

Karaoke will be held at Howl at the Moon at 1 p.m. Admission is $5 and the event is open to all ages.

The Incredibles movie will be played at the West Thunder Community Centre at 1 p.m. Movie-themed activities, crafts, colouring and a photo booth will be available. Viewers are encouraged to dress like their favourite character from the film. Movie Bingo is also back, with prizes, and the canteen will be open, selling movie-themed snacks and more.

Admission is by donation of cash for West Thunder Community Centre.

All weekend

The Heartbeat Hot Sauce Co Spring Warmup Double Header will start at the Thunder City Speedway, with racing at 6 p.m. on Friday and 4 p.m. on Saturday. The first 250 fans in the general admission section each day receive a complimentary Heartbeat Hot Sauce. For more information on tickets and races, visit their Facebook page.
