Sports:

This weekend at the Port Arthur Stadium the Thunder Bay Border Cats host the Wausau Woodchucks. On Saturday they’ll begin at 6:35 p.m. and they’ll go head-to-head for a second time on Sunday at 1:35 p.m. More information here

The Thunder Bay Chill is back at home for a Father’s Day game. All dads, grandpas, uncles and stepdads get 50 per cent off tickets. The game will be against St. Croix Legends on Sunday, at 7 p.m. at the Tbaytel field at Chapples Park.

Entertainment:

The Tbaytel Motorcycle Ride for Dad is revving up for the 22nd year! It will be held at the Superior Inn Hotel and Conference Centre, on Saturday. The ride is in support of the Northern Cancer Fund for Prostate Cancer research, education, diagnosis and treatment. Registration and breakfast will begin at 7:30 a.m. and the festivities continue until 4 p.m. More information here

At 11 a.m. on Saturday the 2024 Pride Parade will begin at Hilcrest Park (gather there by 10 a.m.). The route will start up High Street, down Red River Road, turn right on Algoma Street and back up Waverley to end at the festival. The 2024 Pride Festival will begin at 12 p.m. directly after the parade, concluding at 5 p.m. This year’s theme is Rise Up! Organizers encourage participants to express rainbow spirit in their own way! More information here.

On Saturday, registration is at 10 a.m. for the Walk to End ALS. The walk begins at 10:30 a.m. Parking is free and the walk route will take place on a 5 km paved loop. The ALS Canada Walk to End ALS is the largest community fundraiser for ALS research, advocacy, and community-based services. It is a fun, family-friendly way to celebrate hope for a world free of ALS, honour the people we have loved and lost, and show support for Canadians and their families living with the disease. The ninth annual Thunder Bay Mining Day is being held Saturday at Marina Park from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is hosted and organized by volunteers from a variety of local associations who are involved in the mining, exploration and the related supply and service industries in Northwestern Ontario. It serves to raise awareness of the importance of these industries in our local economy. More information here.

The first annual GCC Father's Day Best Lil' Gun Show in NWO will be on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. At the Gillies Community Centre - 1835 Highway 595 South Gillies, ON for $5 admission you can buy, sell, trade and display firearms. There are food and drinks available. More Information here.

VendorFest Markets will be popping up at the CLE grounds in the Heritage Building from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Join Thunder Bay Farmers’ Market for their last spring market of the season. At North End Recreation Centre – 954 Huron Ave. – find everything you need from tasty treats to bug spray and medicated ointments. You don’t want to miss out, tables are full for Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. More information here.
