There's plenty to do this weekend in Thunder Bay!

Saturday, May 13 

Markets: 

The Thunder Bay Country Market is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Canadian Lakehead Exhibition: 425 Northern Ave. head on down to buy local groceries, crafts, and gifts from the talented, hard-working local people who created them.          

The Peddlers Pop-up Market is happening at the hub Bazaar on Victoria Ave East from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The hub Bazaar is a business incubator with anchor vendors and pop-up peddlers every Saturday! There's a cafe, eatery and even a museum!        

The Thunder Bay Farmer's Market is being held at the North End Rec Centre (954 Huron Ave. From 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Food will be served from the kitchen to eat-in or take-out. For more information, please contact tbfm@tbaytel.net 

The One Stop and Shop Spring Market is bringing a variety of local vendors to the CLE Heritage building. Many local vendors are selling products ranging from seasonal clothes, decor for the home, leisure and of course tea, desserts and food. Vendors selling consumable products all have a safety grade from the local TBDHU. Admission is free! 

South Neebing Community Centre is holding a Spring Market featuring many local vendors to shop from. The market is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 1841 Mountain Road. 

The Friends of the Thunder Bay Public Library presents a unique collection of vinyl records for sale. Thousands of LP's, CD's and 45's in a range of genres. Unique Finds! All items are priced at appraised value. This Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. All proceeds donated to the Thunder Bay Public Library.  Cash or e-transfer only. Admission $1(Children get in free) Arthur Street Medical Health Centre 1265 Arthur Street.  

Theatre: 

Superior Theatre Festival in partnership with the Thunder Bay Art Gallery and Applauze Productions is presenting Alex the Artist by Alycia Novak. This is a new musical for young people that is having its premiere this summer from July 26 to 30 at the Thunder Bay Art Gallery. The show is looking for youth ages 12+ to be involved in this production.  All involvement is FREE. Sign up and register for an audition on the website at www.superiortheatrefesival.com. 

Cambrian Players proudly present MOMologues 2: Off the School by Lisa Rafferty, Stefanie Cloutier, and Sheila Eppolito, directed by Nathalie Roy. Spend a night out with the girls from your Mommy and Me groups. Maybe the PTA. How about your yoga class? Or you can drag your husband along for a night of stories about the parenting adventures told by the matriarchs that keep the kids going. Get tickets and see show times here!  

Fundraisers: 

Are you ready to party for a cause? The Elizabeth Fry Society of Northwestern Ontario is throwing their annual Efry Week fundraising event from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Roots to Harvest for an unforgettable evening. There will be a silent auction, an Efries poutine bar, and merch to buy and show off your support.  

The sleeping Giant Brewery is hosting Trails and Ales in support of trail development and maintenance. Head out from 7 p.m. to midnight! There will be prizes, beer, and food! Pride Events: 

Thunder Pride presents DRAG BINGO! Head out for an evening of Drag Bingo at The Industry Social House, 782 Macdonell St (behind Mario’s Bowl, next to Coran’s Music) Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show and gameplay start at 7 p.m. Hosted by Mz. Molly Poppinz. Performances by Amber Ail & Miss Take. CONTENT WARNING - 19+ event. Mature (or immature) subject matter. Viewer discretion is advised. Entrance to the event is free.

Mother’s Day events: 

Give your marvelous mother a truly unique experience with a beautiful brunch this Mother’s Day at The Delta Hotel and enjoy the sweet sounds of Mood Indigo.
