Markets: 

The Thunder Bay Country Market is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Canadian Lakehead Exhibition: 425 Northern Ave. head on down to buy local groceries, crafts, and gifts from the talented, hard-working local people who created them.  

The Thunder Bay Farmers Market has moved to North End Recreation Centre 954 Huron Ave. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Head out and get breakfast early. There's something for everyone. Many Vendors and options! There are new pop ups vendors and food vendors weekly as well.   

It’s time for the Holiday Market at the CLE Coliseum, your one stop shop for holiday shopping! Head out to the Holiday Market in the Coliseum building beside the Country Market from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Over 100 tables to shop from! Free admission! 

The Grinch is once again paying a visit to Goods & Co. Market from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Bring the whole family out and get some photos. Admission is free. 

Shop locally made gifts at Gallery 33! Sale on art supplies from the Painted Turtle for the artist in your life! From 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Come as you are and enjoy Christmas Music and refreshments while you shop! Located at 4 Balsam St with parking available beside George's Market. 

Head out to the Holiday Craft Market at the Moose Hall!  64 different vendors! Admission is $2 and doors open at 11 a.m. 

 Join the fun at the Hub Bazaar's Annual Christmas Party. Santa will be there from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. 12 Shops, 8 pop ups to enjoy and shop. Live music by Equality Rocks Choir. Doors open at 1 p.m. Bring the whole family.  The hub Bazaar is a business incubator with anchor vendors and pop-up peddlers every Saturday! There's a cafe, eatery and even a museum!   

Theatre: 

The holiday season will see the return of JACOB MARLEY’S CHRISTMAS CAROL by Tom Mula, running from December 6th to December 24th. This play retells Charles Dickens’s classic tale from the perspective of Ebenezer Scrooge’s mean, sour, pruney old business partner, Jacob Marley, who must free himself from hellish eternity by redeeming the heart of Scrooge. Paramount Live presents James & the Giant Peach JR! A delightfully offbeat adaptation of the classic Roald Dahl adventure, a boy and his insect friends take an amazing journey across the ocean. When James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree, he discovers a magic potion that grows a tremendous peach, rolls into the ocean and launches a journey of enormous proportions. James befriends a collection of singing insects that ride the giant piece of fruit across the ocean, facing hunger, sharks and plenty of disagreements along the way. Get Tickets Here! 

All The Daze Productions presents: Annie Jr. At the Thunder Bay Community Auditorium! Join them for this family-friendly classic musical that is perfect for the holiday season. Get Tickets Here! 

Family Events: 

Are you ready THUNDER BAY? the Christmas Light Parade starts at 7 p.m. The parade route starts at Manitoulin Transport on Main St. and comes over the bridge at Intercity to Memorial Ave. Coming North up Memorial Ave to Queen St where in front of the Whole Sale Club and down Fort William Rd will be the Sensory section with no honking or music playing. Bring your spare change to drop in the buckets of the volunteers to be shared among George Jeffery Children's Centre, Autism Thunder Bay, Special Olympics, and Theraputic Riding. 

The Thunder Bay Public Library presents: STORY TIME WITH THUNDER BAY DRAG QUEENS In-person at Mary J. L. Black Public Library (901 Edward St S) from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. All ages & Family-friendly. Free to attend (limited seating capacity) Story Time with Thunder Bay Drag Queens features local drag artists, Lady Fantasia LaPremiere & Mz. Molly Poppinz as they read stories and do activities while fostering acceptance and appreciation of diversity. 

Workshops/Open Houses: 

The Thunder Bay Model Railroaders are hosting their first open house at their new location from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 1109 Victoria Ave. E. Stop by, say hi, and consider becoming a new member! Or just enjoy watching some trains run on the layouts. 

Father Christmas, Saint Nicholas, Saint Nick, Kris Kringle, or simply Santa. He’s a tradition that’s been passed down from generation to generation for hundreds of years, but how much do we actually know about him? Was there a real man that gave out gifts? How did he go from being a Saint to a highly commercialized figure? Was he always a jolly old man with a white beard? 
Join the St. Paul’s Anglican Church (808 Ridgeway Street) workshop where they will delve into the history of “Santa” and how he came to be the legend he is. 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. In order to not ruin the idea of Santa for anyone, it is recommended that children not attend
