THUNDER BAY -- A person has been sent to hospital with undisclosed injuries after a wheelchair was struck along Memorial Avenue on Thursday night.

Police have closed a section of the usually busy street, from Central Avenue to 11th Avenue while they investigate.

A maroon-coloured minivan can be seen in the cordoned-off area.

Police have not said if charges will be laid.
