White River teen charged with sexual assault

WHITE RIVER, Ont. — Ontario Provincial Police have charged a 14-year-old White River resident after receiving a report of an alleged sexual assault.

Members of the Superior East detachment of the OPP were called on April 26 to investigate an incident in White River.

Police say they subsequently laid two criminal charges against a youth:

  • sexual assault on a person under 16 years of age
  • sexual interference

The identify of the accused is protected under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The youth is scheduled for a court appearance in Wawa.
