THUNDER BAY -- Trick-or-treaters are in for some calm weather this Halloween.
The Weather Network has released its forecast for Oct. 31 and those who plan on trick-or-treating Monday can expect above normal temperatures in Thunder Bay.
“The forecast holds a little bit of a trick and a treat,” said meteorologist Kelly Sonnenburg during a phone interview with tbnewswatch.com Friday afternoon.
Temperature wise, Thunder Bay will be above normal temperatures for this time of year, but it’s still going to be a little bit chilly.
“We got Monday night around nine degrees, so that’s not really too bad for this time of year, because temperatures for the Thunder Bay area through the overnights are about minus three degrees,” Sonnenburg said.
“They drop below that freezing mark, so temperature wise it’s pretty good, but you still want to have a couple of layers on just in case.”
Sonnenburg added that unfortunately there’s some rain in the forecast for Monday.
There’s a system developing in Montana, which will track toward the Great Lakes region and towards Ontario.
It will be tracking along the international border and it will make its way into Northwestern Ontario late Monday morning.
“We will likely see those rain showers start to fill in through Northwestern Ontario, including Thunder Bay and those rain showers will continue on and off throughout the day.”
Unfortunately, trick-or-treaters are going to see some rain Monday, so plan accordingly.
