THUNDER BAY – A fourth-quarter collapse cost the Lakehead Thunderwolves dearly against the visiting Windsor Lancers

The No. 18 Lancers, who led by two after three quarters, pulled away in the final stanza, outscoring Lakehead 23-19 to pull out a 72-56 triumph at the C.J. Sanders Fieldhouse.

Xavier Ochu led the way for Windsor with a game-high 25 points, adding a dozen rebounds and six assists.

He was the only Windsor player to hit double-digits on the night.

Chris Sagl had 17 points to lead Thunderwolves, while Nathan Bilamu chipped in 13 and Harold Santacruz had 10.

The Wolves, who have dropped four straight, fell to 2-6 on the season and into last place in the OUA Central. Windsor improved to 2-5, picking up just their second win of 2023-24.

Lakehead heads to Toronto next weekend to take on the Varsity Blues to finish up their pre-Christmas portion of their schedule.

They’ll be back at the Thunderdome on Jan. 5 against Queen’s.
