The City of Thunder Bay has cancelled its weekly Winter FunDay activities at Marina Park due to blowing snow conditions. Both indoor and outdoor activities have been cancelled "to ensure public safety," the city stated in a release.

Roads are slow throughout the city, and drivers have been urged to use caution, following a snowfall warning for the city from Environment Canada. The warning issued early Sunday calls for 10 to 20 centimetres of snowfall, with another 10 centimetres expected on Monday.

This Sunday was to have been the second of 12 weekly events featuring free family activities, with a skating party and arts and crafts. The series will resume next week on Sunday, Jan. 5, with campfire storytelling and indoor activities tied to the city's 50th anniversary celebrations.
