THUNDER BAY --- Environment Canada has issued a weather advisory for Thunder Bay, warning of possible snowfall that could result in poor driving conditions.
The agency declared a winter weather advisory for Thursday afternoon and evening expecting 7 to 12 centimetres by the time the snow tapers off overnight, with some areas possibly seeing 15 centimetres.
Periods of light snow has begun, but the snow is expected to increase in intensity later this morning and continue throughout the day.
“Poor winter driving conditions are expected this afternoon due to accumulating snow, particularly on Highways 11 and 17. Motorists should consider changing travel plans accordingly,” states an advisory posted just after 6 a.m.
