THUNDER BAY - Environment Canada has issued a winter weather travel advisory for the City of Thunder Bay.
The government weather agency declared the advisory Wednesday morning stating the snow will begin overnight Wednesday to Thursday evening.
Snow with total snowfall accumulations of 5 to 10 centimetres is expected.
Winds gusting up to 70 kilometres an hour combined with falling snow will result in blowing snow and reduced visibilities.
The weather agency warns of rapidly falling temperatures could cause ice build up on roads and sidewalks.
Plan on slippery road conditions, blowing snow could significantly reduce visibilities and hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute.
If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.
