Winter weather travel advisory in effect for Tuesday evening

THUNDER BAY -- A travel advisory is in effect for the city Tuesday evening.

Environment Canada states An Alberta Clipper moving through northern Ontario will bring hazardous travel conditions.

Snowfall accumulations of 5 to 10 centimetres is expected, with locally higher amounts up to 15 centimetres northeast of Thunder Bay.

Southerly winds gusting to 50 kilometres an hour at times may lead to reduced visibilities in snow and blowing snow.

Snowfall will begin early Tuesday evening and lasting into early Wednesday morning.

The highest snowfall amounts are expected northeast of Thunder Bay.
