THUNDER BAY – Make it a clean sweep for the Lakehead Thunderwolves.

The Wolves got goals from four different skaters on Friday night and skated to a second straight 4-2 non-conference win over the visiting Nipissing Lakers at Fort William Gardens.

Kelin Ainsworth, Billy Jenkins, Tyler Anton and Cody Alcock scored for the Wolves, who jumped out to a 3-0 lead early in the third, only to see their opponent pot a couple of quick ones on LU netminder Justin McDonald to pull within a goal

Erik Robichaud beat McDonald at 5:10 of the final period, Danny Desrochers following with a goal of his own just 94 seconds later.

Alcock restored the two-goal lead for Lakehead at the midway point of the final period.

Ainsworth, who opened the scoring with the lone goal of the first period, finished with a goal and two assists.

Talor Joseph, who spent the 2012-13 season with the Fort Frances Lakers, made 37 saves in taking the loss. McDonald was good on 29 of 31 shots directed his way.

The Thunderwolves (8-6-1) will face Brock twice next weekend at home as OUA regular season play resumes.
