A woman was airlifted to the hospital after a tractor trailer and passenger vehicle collided on Highway 11-17 Friday.
Officers with the Nipigon detachment of the OPP say they responded to the highway crash, located just west of Dorion, around 11:50 a.m. The crash involved a tractor trailer being drive westbound and a passenger vehicle heading eastbound.
The female passenger of one of the vehicles involved in the crash was airlifted from the scene to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.
The victim’s condition is unknown.
Police were forced to shutdown the highway for about two and a half hours as a result of the crash. Police had re-opened a lane of the highway around 3:30 p.m. Friday
