Police say a woman was attacked after she refused a ride from a man in a silver car on the city’s south side Wednesday.
Thunder Bay Police Service officers said the woman was walking along McKenzie Street near Robertson Street around 10:30 a.m. when a man in a silver car approached her. The man offered her a ride but she refused.
The woman continued walking but was attacked from behind moments later. She struggled with her attacker while calling for help, police said.
The man returned to his car and drove off. After a search of the area, police failed to find a suspect or the vehicle.
Police are now looking for a man described to be in his mid-to-late 40s, possibly Mexican, standing about 5-foot-9 with a medium build. He has short black hair and is unshaven with likely a couple days of facial hair growth.
The man wore blue jeans and a white T-shirt with a picture of a surfer on the front at the time of the attack. The vehicle is described as being a shiny silver mid-size four-door passenger car.
Anyone with information about this suspect is asked to call the Thunder Bay Police Service.
