THUNDER BAY - A collision with a light pole that caused extensive damage to a vehicle has resulted in impaired driving charges for a Thunder Bay woman.
In a media release issued on Monday, Thunder Bay Police Service said officers were dispatched to the area of Arthur Street and Brodie Street for reports of a motor vehicle collision.
Officers found a vehicle had collided with a light pole, which caused extensive damage to the vehicle and minor damage to the pole. The driver was found sitting outside of the vehicle.
After being assessed by paramedics, police conducted a breath analysis on the driver and determined she had a blood alcohol concentration of 153 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millimeters of blood.
The 23-year-old driver was arrested and charged with operations while impaired by alcohol or drugs and operations while impaired blood alcohol concentration.
The driver was released from custody on a promise to appear in court on Aug. 20.
