THUNDER BAY - A 25-year-old woman has been granted bail after allegedly stabbing a man last month.

Larissa Mary Jacob appeared in a Thunder Bay courtroom by video for a bail hearing on Tuesday morning, July 14.

A justice of the peace accepted a joint submission for Jacob’s release presented by defence counsel Karen Scullion and Crown attorney Piera Pasloski.

On June 25, Thunder Bay police arrested Jacob in connection with an assault on the city’s south side after police located a male with non-life threatening injuries.

Jacob was subsequently charged with assault with a weapon, failing to comply with a judicial release and breach of probation by police.

A court-ordered publication ban is in effect which prevents the publication of evidence and information discussed at the accused’s court appearance.

Jacob’s release comes with a number of conditions including residing with her surety at all times outside of Thunder Bay, abstaining from alcohol and drugs, she cannot possess any weapons and she is to have no contact with two named individuals.

Jacob was released on a $500 non-deposit release order. If she fails to comply with any of her conditions, she may be required to pay this amount.

Her next court date is scheduled to take place on Aug. 25.
