Woman dies in Red Lake crash

Police say car left the road in Madsen and came to rest on a frozen body of water early Friday morning.

RED LAKE, Ont. – An adult female has died in a motor vehicle collision in the Municipality of Red Lake.

Ontario Provincial Police, in a release issued on Friday, said the woman’s vehicle left the road way early Friday morning on Mine Street and came to rest on a frozen body of water near the roadway.

Police say they arrived at the scene shortly afterward and found the woman deceased.

The cause of the collision, which occurred at about 3:30 a.m., remains under investigation.

The woman’s identity is being withheld until notification of next-of-kin has been completed. Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them at 1-888-310-1122.
