Woman injured in purse snatching

Incident occurred on Sunday in 800 block of Red River Road.

THUNDER BAY – A 71-year-old woman was injured in a purse snatching on Sunday afternoon.

City police, in a release issued on Monday, said the victim had just parked her vehicle in the 800 block of Red River Road, at about 1:42 p.m., when a male grabbed her purse.

During the struggle, which resulted in the suspect fleeing with the purse, the woman fell to the ground.

The victim was treated for non life-threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as a light-skinned male in his 20s, with a slim build and was wearing a black T-shirt, black pants and a white baseball cap.
