The Kenora woman who was recently shot by an OPP officer has been charged, police confirmed Wednesday.
The incident took place on June 7, when Kenora detachment OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic incident. Upon attending the scene an officer was confronted by a female wielding a knife, which resulted in shots being fired.
The woman was flown to a hospital in Winnipeg afterwards.
The 39-year-old has been charged with assault with a weapon and uttering threats to cause death.
The province's Special Investigations Unit continues to probe the officer's actions during the incident.
