Woman's body found in Brant Street area

THUNDER BAY -- The body of a deceased woman was discovered Saturday by a passerby in a wooded area off Brant Street on Thunder Bay’s north side. Police, in a release issued Saturday afternoon, said the discovery was made at about 1 p.m.

THUNDER BAY -- The body of a deceased woman was discovered Saturday by a passerby in a wooded area off Brant Street on Thunder Bay’s north side.

Police, in a release issued Saturday afternoon, said the discovery was made at about 1 p.m. and the area, a popular walking trail, has been secured by police for further examination by the forensic unit.

At about 2 p.m. an ambulance was seen racing down Junot Avenue toward Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, escorted by a pair of police vehicles, lights flashing and sirens wailing. 

A post-mortem is pending to determine both the cause of death and the identity of the deceased.
