CALGARY -- Things were looking good for Thunder Bay's Oye-Sem Won and Trevor Bonot through two ends of their Canadian Mixed Doubles Championship.

They opened with a single and stole another point in the second to take an early 2-0 lead over John Morris and Danielle Schmiemann.

The third end wasn't so kind.

The Alberta duo put up a five-spot to jump in front 5-2, and cruised to an 8-3 triumph to drop Bonot and Won to 1-1 at the Calgary bubble event.

Morris and Schmiemann improved to 2-1.

Bonot and Won will be back at it again on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m., taking on Newfoundland's Mackenzie Mitchell and Greg Smith, who are 2-1.

Former Thunder Bay resident Karlee Jones and her curling partner, Bryce Everist, will look to get back into the win column for Nova Scotia, taking on Brendan Bottcher and Bobbie Sauder at 10:30 p.m. They're 1-1, but will face a tough task. Bottcher is coming off a win at the Tim Hortons Brier.
