Woodstock, Ont. driver killed in Dryden-area transport crash

DRYDEN, Ont. – A 31-year-old Woodstock, Ont. man was killed on Sunday morning in a tractor-trailer collision west of Dryden, Ont.

Ontario Provincial Police says Alexei Plevak was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred on Sunday morning at about 6 a.m. on Highway 17 in Mutrie Township.

The victim was the driver of an eastbound tractor trailer that collided with a westbound tractor trailer parked in the eastbound lane.

The driver and passenger of the parked vehicle did not suffer any injuries.

Highway 17 was closed from Dryden to Vermillion Bay for about nine hours. The investigation is ongoing.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the victim's widow and her four children.
