Working together: Minister agrees to work with opposition

Ontario’s Natural Resources Minister Michael Gravelle said he is more than willing to work with opposition members, and that includes Kenora-Rainy River’s MPP.

Ontario’s Natural Resources Minister Michael Gravelle said he is more than willing to work with opposition members, and that includes Kenora-Rainy River’s MPP.

NDP member Sarah Campbell was recently named her party’s opposition critic for natural resources and aboriginal affairs.  She issued an invitation to Gravelle, saying she's hoping to meet with him to discuss ideas.

Gravelle, who is also the MPP for the Thunder Bay – Superior North riding, recently told members of the Thunder Bay District Municipal League that he too wants to meet with opposition members.

The minister said he believes he has always worked closely with members of other parties.

Gravelle added that having input from the opposition is important, especially in a minority government situation.

The Minister said there may even be a formal sit-down once Queen’s Park resumes.
