THUNDER BAY – A group of knife-wielding, baseball bat-carrying males swarmed a North Edward Street store on Tuesday night, smashing a cooler before stealing cigarettes and fleeing on foot.

Thunder Bay police say five young males entered the Mac’s Convenience Store just before 11 p.m., all dressed in dark clothing. Two were carrying knives and one was brandishing a baseball bat.

The lone employee was found minutes later by police, unharmed.

The investigation continues.
